Laura Schmit currently serves as District Supervisor for the Division of Rehabilitation Services. She is a Certified Senior Rehabilitation Counselor and served in the counselor capacity for 5 years, until she was appointed District Supervisor in May 2025. Laura earned a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Master of Education in Student Affairs from South Dakota State University. Laura is also a Certified Rehabilitation Leader, a credential awarded by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. She’s committed to empowering individuals through support, advocacy, and access to the resources they need to thrive.
